Alberta-based writer, Joanne Elves is never home. With her trusty camera, notepad and a pair of running shoes, she is out there looking for the next adventure, cultural or culinary story, usually in Alberta or throughout Canada. Taking “the other road” and writing about it has also won her a few journalism awards. Over a 20-year career, Elves has been a regular contributor to the Calgary Herald and its sister publications as well as numerous other publications, including The Globe and Mail, Westjet’s up! magazine, Canadian Running Magazine and Travel Alberta.
